Message from Prof. SG Tashi, Vice Chancellor, IU Sikkim
Welcome to the ICFAI University, Sikkim. Today the horizons of professional activities are expanding and hence there
is much more scope for the younger generation to uncap their talents and
touch greater heights of achievement. Since the educational scenario in our
country has become quite dynamic and competitive, we have to be ready and
equipped with the required abilities and capacities to conquer these newer
fields of knowledge and master newer techniques and skills. Accordingly the
University is committed to providing the students excellent education, practical training and facilities,
so that they become efficient professionals and responsible citizens. Our expanding economy needs
many such professionals towards which the University has introduced graduate programs.
Regular meetings of the University authorities, namely; Board of Governors, Board of Management,
Academic Council and Finance Committee are being conducted, as per the provisions of the Act and
The Placement Team and its in-house training cell for career development has enabled the students to
achieve 100% placements. The team helps graduates gain a competitive edge in the recruitment process,
groom their confidence and develop into a well-rounded personality resulting in our graduates finding
employment with many renowned international and national companies in the IT, management, finance,
hospitality industry and law sectors.
The University has continued to strive for excellence in its programs and introduced few innovative
programs that make the students employable anywhere across the country. With a large number of
students from our fraternal neighbours Bhutan and Nepal, the University has also shaped students from
there to be excellent professionals within their countries and elsewhere.
The University gratefully appreciates and acknowledges the continuous support received from the
Government of Sikkim which has kept our motivational level high in pursuit of professional excellence in
the fields of Management, Hospitality & Tourism, Information Technology and Law as also to undertake
higher education and research in the fields chosen by the students, so that they contribute to the society.
I thank all the faculty members and non teaching staff of the University for their active cooperation
without which we would not have achieved all the success that we had.
