Pass in 10+2 (any discipline) with aggregate marks 50% and above. Final year 10 +2 students awaiting results can also apply.Program Structure :
The BA English (Honours) program consists of 26 courses covered in six semesters spread over three years. The students are required to take a Dissertation in VI semester. The actual choice of electives will however depend on the optimal number of students opting for the same elective. Two Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses (AECC) and 2 Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC) are also the part of the curriculum. While AECC based upon the content that leads to knowledge enhancement, the SECs are value based and / or skill based. In particular, SECs like Computer Application &Project is Lab Oriented Practical paper and aimed at providing hands –on training through latest application software essential suitable and most relevant in modern research .Tailor made courses like North East Modern Literature and Eastern Himalayan Studies are very unique in this program and will be an added strength for the Students of Bhutan, Nepal, & North Eastern Himalayas Region of India. In addition, students are exposed to one foreign language in fifth semester.

The admission modalities are with reference to the full time campus
programs offered by the ICFAI University, Sikkim. All applicants
who meet the eligibility criteria specified for the program and have
studied in English medium in their qualifying examination are eligible
Final year students awaiting results can also apply. Their admission will be provisional, subject to qualifying in the final examination. The registration and admission of these applicants is liable to be cancelled in case they do not fulfill the eligibility criteria by September 15, 2021. In such cases, admission fee will be forfeited and only 50% of the semester fee will be refunded after notifying the cancellation of the seat by the University.
The University follows semester pattern for all its programs. Each academic year consists of two semesters. Continuous evaluation is carried out through mid-semester examinations, assignments, quizzes etc., culminating in an end semester examination. The students also have to undergo faculty supervised internships for practical training.Medium of Instruction:
The medium of instruction is English.Selection Procedure
The selection of applicants into the UG/PG programs of the University is subject to fulfilment of the eligibility criteria made through screening of the applications. Due weightage is given to academic distinction, honors and awards in sports, cultural events, extra-curricular activities viz debates, quizzes and adventure sports. All applicants meeting the selection criteria will be given a provisional admission subject to verification of the documents at the time of registration and payment of fee.Registration:
All applicants having received the provisional admissions are required to present themselves with Original academic/other certificates and residence proof/HRDD Govt. of Sikkim allotment letters in case seeking fee concessions, for verification along with semester and other fees on the date of Registration. In addition, photocopies are also required to be submitted for retention in their record with the University. Original certificates will be returned after verification.Special Reservation:
There shall be a special provision for admission of applicants belonging to the State of Sikkim in any course of the ICFAI University, Sikkim, which shall not be less than 25 (twenty-five) per cent of seats in each course/discipline subject to the applicants meeting the minimum qualifying requirements referred below. Seats remaining unfilled under special reservation may be filled up by allotting the same to applicants belonging to Open Category. The Government Quota students will be given a fee concession of 50% on program fees. In addition to the Government quota, seats will be reserved with fee concession for applicants from the state of Sikkim, GTA area and the nearby North Bengal region as per the mandate of the University to serve the educational needs of the state of Sikkim and the nearby areas.Late Admission Facility:
There is a limited window for applicants who miss the regular admission deadline due to reasons beyond control. Such applicants can directly come with admission documents with admission and semester fees as applicable to their program and seek admission as walk in applicants till September 10, 2021.Commencement of Classes:
The classes for the Academic year 2021-22 will commence from August 30, 2021.Award of Degree:
Students successfully completing the program are awarded degree in their respective discipline by the University, in accordance with the University rules.Anti-ragging & Anti-sexual Harassment:
The ICFAI University provides a ragging free campus. The University follows the UGC guidelines and norms regarding the anti-ragging and anti-sexual harassment policies. The students are required to submit the duly signed affidavit for Anti-ragging at the time of admission to the University.

- Please make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria before filling up the Application Form.
- Fill the Application Form in CAPITAL LETTERS.
- Please provide all available and correct information in appropriate sections.
- Make sure to sign the Application Form.
- Retain a photo copy of the Application Form along with documents stipulated.
- Demand Draft for Rs. 3000 as applicable for the program applied for, towards admission fee drawn in favor of The ICFAI University, Sikkim-Fee Collection A/c payable at Gnagtok.
Applicants are required to submit self-attested copies of the following certificates at the time of registration with originals for verification:
- Birth Certificate / Class X Certificate
- Marksheets of Class XII / Degree Certificates (as may be applicable)
- Fees concession (if applicable) requisite documents to be attached.
- Nationality Certificate/Proof, for foreign students only
- Other certificates pertaining to academic and extra curricular activities.

Admission Fee (One Time) of Rs. 3,000 for all programs is to be paid by all the students along with the application forms.Exam Fee:
All the students need to pay an amount of Rs. 2,000 per semester for UG & PG programs towards Exam Fee along with the Program Fee.Caution Deposit:
All students are required to pay a Caution Deposit (One Time) of Rs. 5,000 along with the First Semester Fee. The Caution Deposit will be refunded without interest and after adjusting for dues, if any, to the students on completion of the Program.Program Fee:
Students have to pay the fee at the beginning of each semester, as per the due dates which will be notified separately at the relevant time.

** Fee Concession: A limited number of seats are reserved for fee concession to students coming from the University catchment areas on first come first served basis. l 50% fee concession to the students coming from Sikkim Government Quota. l 30% fee concession to the students from North East States, GTA Region & North Bengal. (Fees concessions shall be applicable only after due verification of the documents/residential proof) and other related clause.Remittance:

The ICFAI University Sikkim offers merit scholarships to students pursuing the UG & PG Programs. The scholarships are based on performance in Class XII (or equivalent)/ Graduation (or equivalent) and Semester-wise performance during the Program.A. Merit Scholarships based on past academic record:
Percentage of marks achieved in qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) will decide the amount of scholarship. The Scholarship will be awarded from second semester. Scholarship will continue semester after semester only on maintaining the minimum 8.0 GPA. The details are as presented in the following table.

BA English (Hons.) PROGRAM
The BA English (Honours) program consists of 29 courses covered in six semesters spread over three years. The students are required to take 4 Honours electives during the sixth semester and a Dissertation.
